Amy Jones Wins Joint MRS Young Researcher of the Year Award

Another fantastic result at this year's annual MRS Awards, with the wonderful Amy Jones winning joint MRS Young Researcher of the Year Award! We couldn't be prouder of her, she is a shining beacon of what all researchers aspire to be.  Her passion and drive are visible in everything she puts her mind to, and evidenced by an impressive array of achievements, all squeezed into just 4½ years in the industry.

Amy Jones Wins Joint MRS Young Researcher of the Year Award

After graduating from Exeter with a 1st in Psychology (BSc) and embarking on a career in research, Amy spent 3 years taking part in the university's employability programme: presenting to undergraduates about a career in research and spreading the word about her new passion.

A key member of the award winning 2CV team working on Girl Effect & TEGA (Best New Innovation, MRS 2016), Amy has drawn out insights that have fundamentally shaped the direction of Girl Effect's TEGA (Technology Enabled Girl Ambassadors) programme, including the development of the technology, their recruitment strategy and training.

Not limited to insight, Amy has spent much of 2016/2017 travelling to Government red zones across Nigeria and Rwanda to deliver the training she has designed: helping girls gain MRS accreditation, improve their lives through permanent employment and gain broader life skills such as confidence, money management and understanding gender issues. Amy has also capacity built the Nigeria & Rwanda Girl Effect team - passing on her research expertise so that TEGA can grow successfully.

Amy has wowed not only the team here at 2CV, but also the client and the girls alike. AURA invited her to present TEGAs achievements to an audience of c.150 at the 'AURA best of the best conference' in London & Manchester. To improve the life chances of one girl is amazing, to influence and deliver a programme, which has helped c.100 girls to have a more fulfilling, successful, life is outstanding. The judges said "We were incredibly impressed by Amy's work worldwide to bring the benefits of research to vulnerable communities."

Her quality and dedication to her work at 2CV have been so highly valued that Girl Effect have now hired her to work within their Insight department.  We look forward to continuing working with her as a client, and can't wait to see what she achieves as part of the fantastic team at Girl Effect.
